Review highlights
Based on 214 reviewsEighth Hour Wine House by The Eighth garners appreciation for its spacious and comfortable two-floor interior, offering a cozy dining atmosphere away from high-traffic areas. The menu presents a diverse selection that includes local favorites such as nasi lemak, mee hoon, dim sum, and various Western-style brunch options. Customers frequently praise the quality and taste of specific dishes like prawn porridge, sambal, and fresh dim sum, highlighting the kitchen’s ability to deliver flavorful and well-prepared meals. However, some feedback points to inconsistencies, particularly regarding portion sizes and seasoning, with occasional dishes perceived as underwhelming or lacking sufficient flavor. Beverage offerings receive mixed reviews, with several patrons noting that coffee flavors can be unusual or not meet typical expectations. Overall, the brand is recognized for a relaxed ambiance and varied menu, though there is room for refinement in food consistency and drink preparation to enhance the overall dining experience.
This location hidden inside a small housing area besides the busy Old Klang Road is certainly not a high traffic area if not due to the fact that it’s besides a very popular church. It opens at 8am and has two floors for customers seating. Nice comfy spacious interior. Menu is simple with a bit of everything from noodles to nasi lemak to toast bread to some dim sum favorites. The dim sum was pretty good and fresh. The porridge was really smooth and tasted just right for me. Would be a nice comfy place for breakfast if only we stay nearby…..
Food was average. But the coffee a bit weird. I ordered caramel milk coffee which my expectations is sweet but it comes with a burnt taste and there is some black thingy syrup at the bottom which is so difficult to dilute. I think that could be caramel sauce but burnt one
Ordered nasi lemak w curry chicken , chicken two small pcs and three small potato, for me the portion was not valuable. Rice still not really cooked , central was abit hard ( eggshell for free ) Meehoon with fried chicken : fried chicken was nice , but the meehoon are tasteless, the curry sauce on top of the meehoon is not enough. Cham coffee is impressed. Smooth and nice
Visited for a weekend brunch. Reached at around 12pm but restaurant ady crowded. pls order Nasi Lemak cuz it’s very big portion and taste good ham & egg croissant is a must too !
The food quality and taste is superb. My prawn porridge was most delectable while my wife's Mee siam sotong was really mouth watering. The sambal was delicious and had a kick. The Ha Gau or prawn dumpling was so fresh it was better than the dim sum shops we go to. The fritters were great and the duck Chun quen was so so scrumptious. The Yin Yong or Cham, the ice lemon tea and kopi O were fantastic and really hit the spot on a hot day. The service was a tad slow and the kitchen was slow with the Mee siam. Nice ambience but the tables for 2 are too small.
